Now begin to gradually cover the entrance of the hoop. At first, only cover a small sliver of the hoop's front. As your rat adjusts, begin to gradually cover the rest of the hoop.

Finally, you want to fade out your hand by making your cues more and more subtle. Continue fading out the lure until just pointing at the covered hoop cues your rat to jump through it.
