Painting
Painting is a super fun trick to train your rats! There are 3 main ways of teaching painting, with one involving the rat using a brush to paint, another involving teaching them to paw target paint and paw target a canvas in order to finger paint, and the final version involving simply luring the rats across some paint and a canvas. Each of these methods has their own uniqueness, and each has its own level of difficulty. The luring method is the easiest for rats of any training level, as its only difficulty involves accustoming the rat to the smell of the paint. Spin painting is a derivative of the lure method, being a bit more involved as the rat must spin on the paint itself. The paw target method is a bit more difficult, involving training the rat to target things with their paws along with accustoming them to the paint. And finally, the paint brush method is the hardest, as it involves the rat picking up a paintbrush and using it to paint the canvas. Regardless of what method you choose, painting is a great way to create a unique keepsake for your rats!
