Step 1:
With your rat standing next to the bell, lure them onto their hind legs. Try to angle them so that when they go back down to four paws, one of their paws will land close to/on the bell button.

Step 2:
Once your rat starts to get the right idea, begin to stop luring your rat upwards and instead reward them for any paw movements made towards the bell button on their own (if they seem confused, try taping the bell button to draw their attention to it).

Start to only reward your rat when their paw makes contact with the top or sides of the bell button.

Finally, only reward your rat when they push the bell button hard enough to ring the bell. This is the hardest step, so be patient and gradually increase your expectations.
