Step 1:
Teach each rat to play soccer with their respective goal. These training sessions should be individual, and you want to practice until your rats can deliver the ball to the goal from any part of the field.

Now add in the second goal. Continue working one-on-one with each rat, until they can each make a goal on the correct side even when the ball is inside the opposite goal.

Step 3:
Now comes the difficult part. Bring out both rats, along with 2 balls. Reward each rat for placing the ball into their respective goal. You may need to re-direct each rat to the task several times, so be patient and work at your rat's pace.

Step 4:
Once your rats are successfully playing with 2 balls, its time to remove one. In the beginning, you may need to reward one rat with slightly larger treats to give the slower rat a chance to make some goals. But once their confidence increases and they get better at stealing the ball from each other, you should be able to reward them with the same small treat each time they make a correct goal!
